Angel Beats! has an interesting story to tell, something that's different from most others. Even with the high school genre injected into it, its still a step away from the rest as it presents itself with a touch of the afterlife rather than being close to a slice of life anime.

The array of characters found within Angel Beats! gives it a sense of balance, ranging from the silent Tenshi to the tsundere-type Yuri as well as to the geeky Takeyama.

The choice of music used within the anime itself is brilliant, with Girls Dead Monster being an all-girl high school band adds to the life of the anime, while at the same time, the piano opening to the anime enhances the touching feeling that the audience gets at the end of the anime.

It also incorporates humor, with Otonashi being unused to the way of life, often leading to him having an exaggerated imagination of what it actually is.

"Do you wish to die?!"

A must watch series if you've enjoyed Jun Maeda's works as part of Key.
